GAY MEN'S PEER SUPPORT GROUPS
You are Unique . . . BUT NOT Alone!
No matter what your situation or current challenge, there are others in our community who are or have been in the same place. Sharing and listening can be an amazing help!
What Our Groups Offer
Gay Men's Peer Support Groups at Whitman-Walker Clinic offer confidential, respectful, non-judgmental places to talk with others who can relate first-hand to you and your concerns. Gay Men facing similar situations with related goals are invited to join together to explore topics of mutual interest. Groups will not offer “one-size-fits-all” answers. However, the chance to share ideas and exchange information offered by the groups should help participants make choices and decisions best suited to their individual lives and needs.
Our facilitators are trained in guiding group interaction in a manner that helps a wide variety of people regardless of race, age, marital status, disability, or comfort level in the gay community.
What Our Groups Expect
Group members commit to regular attendance at weekly meetings. Each group meets on the same night at the same time each week for at least 12 consecutive weeks. On-time arrival is also key. Members are expected to contribute as openly as possible and with honesty at all times. Mutual respect and confidentiality are absolutely essential.
