The Regional Health Centers

Access to care can be one of the most critical challenges our clients face.  Our regional health centers offer most of the services available to clients at our Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center in downtown Washington.  Every year, the level of services we offer increases in an effort to provide the most comprehensive, compassionate and convenient care to those in need.

Max Robinson Center of Whitman-Walker Clinic – Max Robinson Center of Whitman-Walker Clinic provides a wide range of health care and support services for people east of the Anacostia River. Through community outreach, we educate the predominantly African-American community east of the Anacostia River about HIV risk reduction strategies and help change unsafe behaviors.  Max Robinson Center also provides a full range of primary medical services with HIV/AIDS and LGBT specialty care, dental care, behavioral health care and day treatment.

Whitman-Walker Clinic of Northern Virginia – Whitman-Walker Clinic of Northern Virginia provides health care and support services for people in the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, and Falls Church, and the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William. Whitman-Walker Clinic of Northern Virginia offers primary medical care, HIV/AIDS and LGBT specialty care, case management, legal services, health promotion and disease prevention, behavioral health care and a strong volunteer program.

The SMART (Suburban Maryland AIDS Reduction Team) program promotes HIV/AIDS prevention in Suburban Maryland. SMART specifically targets African-Americans. However, services are available to all Suburban Maryland populations.  SMART services include street and community outreach, anonymous and confidential HIV counseling and testing, prevention workshops, individual HIV risk reduction counseling, peer educator training and a speaker's bureau. Appointments are not necessary for HIV testing.
