How Can I Take Care of Myself?
Breast Self-Exam
Learning what your breasts are like is very important so
that you can be aware of how they normally change, and help your
doctor or health care provider find what may be an unusual change.
You will learn the most by examining your breasts each month.
Clinical Breast Exam
Yearly breast exams performed by a trained health
care provider can find lumps missed by breast self-exams.
Mammogram
A mammogram is an x-ray picture of the breast, with far less
radiation than a regular x-ray. Because our breasts become less dense as
we age, regular mammograms are recommended for women 40 and over.
